JEFF COMMITTEE PRESENTING SPECIAL AWARD JUNE 13 TO LAWYERS FOR THE CREATIVE ARTS
CHICAGO, IL, June 13 2005 - Lawyers for the Creative Arts will receive a Special Citation Award at the 32nd annual Joseph Jefferson Citations ceremony on June 13.
Sponsored by The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee, the awards ceremony also will recognize winners in 22 categories for theatrical productions opening during the 2004-05 season (April 1, 2004-July 31, 2005). The ceremony will be held at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the presentation ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m.
The Special Citation Award recognizes Lawyers for the Creative Arts for providing pro bono services to Chicago theatres for more than 30 years. “The theatres benefiting the most from this organization have been the non-equity theatres who can’t afford to pay for legal services. The Lawyers for the Creative Arts have been vital to the establishment and growth of many Chicago theatres, said Jerry Proffit, Chair of The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee.
David Cromer and Marc Grapey are returning this year to co-emcee this year’s Citation ceremony. Cromer is an actor and director, and Grapey is co-Artistic Director for Famous Door Theatre. Both are previous recipients of Jeff Awards.
Advance general admission tickets are $25 for the public and $30 at the door. Ticket order information is available at the Jeff web site at www.jeffawards.org.
