Cromer To Host 33rd Annual Jeff Awards Citations Ceremony

Monday, May 22, 2006 - Chicago, IL. David Cromer, Chicago-based actor and director who recently returned from Broadway, will host the 33rd annual Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee's Citations Awards Ceremony honoring excellence in Chicago non-equity theatre. Mr. Cromer’s talent, humor, and quick wit have been a big hit with the Chicago theatre community at past ceremonies. On Broadway, he directed the critically acclaimed production of "Orson’s Shadow," a 2005 Drama League Distinguished Performance Award nominee.

The evening will include exciting musical performances by some of the season’s nominees; Theatre Building Chicago's "Josephine Tonight! " (one nomination), Lifeline Theatre's "Queen Lucia" (eight nominations), and Bailiwick Repertory Theatre’s "Kiss of the Spider Woman " (seven nominations).

A special Jeff Citations Award will be presented posthumously to Fred Solari.

The Jeff Citations Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at Park West, 322 W. Armitage, Chicago, IL. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Light supper at 6:30 p.m. Presentation at 7:30 p.m. Cash bar. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Names of award recipients will be released immediately following the presentation ceremony June 5. Copies of the news release with all award winners will be available at the News Media table after the presentation ceremony ends. It also will be e-mailed to our regular distribution list as a Word doc attachment and in text format in the body of the e-mail by the morning of June 6.
